Prepare your listing, screenshots, and age rating

The app is ready, and now the store needs images, a description, and rating answers. We’d prepare these from the version you’re submitting. That keeps the screenshots, audience declaration, and description in step with what people can actually use.

Have a working build with representative content, a name and description, support details, and a public privacy-policy URL. Remove test credentials and private customer information from screenshots.

Describe what people can do now

Explain the app’s available features plainly. Don’t promise features that people can’t access in the submitted version.

Review each supported language and device category. Make sure support and privacy links work without a developer login.

Prepare the images each store needs

For Apple, supply between 1 and 10 screenshots in an accepted format for the required device sizes. Use the current specification table instead of exporting every historical size. If the app runs on iPad, include iPad screenshots.

For Google, prepare the app icon, a 1024 × 500 feature graphic, and at least 2 screenshots. Additional device formats and eligibility for promotion have their own requirements. Keep recommendations separate from the basic submission minimum.

Answer the rating and audience questions

Complete Apple’s age-rating questionnaire and Google’s content-rating and target-audience declarations from the app’s actual content and features.

Apple introduced an updated rating questionnaire with a January 31, 2026 deadline for existing apps. If you’re updating an older listing, those answers may need attention before the update can proceed.

Check the preview and validation messages

The listing is ready when the store no longer flags missing assets or rating answers and the preview accurately represents the app.

For an image error, read which device slot or image property failed. An image accepted in one slot may not fit another. Apple screenshot changes after approval may require a new version, so check before assuming the edit can be made independently of a release.
