App Store 2.3.6 rejection: Accurate age ratings

You may have rated your own content accurately while overlooking what users or a linked service can add. Apple’s 2.3.6 requires honest age-rating answers for the app people actually use. Films, games, or other media can also carry territory-specific rating or warning obligations.

Review what a new user can reach

Check built-in content, web views, user posts, chat, purchases, and generated material. Compare each relevant questionnaire answer with the submitted build. We’d include optional features and remotely loaded content, not just the default screen.

Correct the answers or the access

Update incorrect answers in App Store Connect. If your intended experience excludes certain content, make the actual controls enforce that boundary. An age rating doesn’t permit material Apple prohibits elsewhere.

Check local media-rating obligations with the people responsible for that content. The store questionnaire doesn’t replace them.

Test the revised access controls with appropriate test accounts and review the resulting store rating. Explain which answer or feature changed and why. Link the reviewer to the relevant screen so they can verify the correction without guessing.
