Submit your iPhone or iPad app for review

Your build is ready and you’ve filled out the forms, but the app still says Ready for Review. Apple has two submission actions: Add for Review, then Submit for Review. If you’ve only done the first, there’s one more step to send it.

Get the version ready

You’ll need a processed build that meets the requirements, complete listing information, privacy and rating answers, and a working review account if the app requires login. Keep the backend and any services the reviewer needs running.

1. Open the app version in App Store Connect and select the correct processed build.
2. Complete the required version information, screenshots, App Review contact details, and access instructions.
3. Install the app from scratch and follow the steps you’ll give the reviewer. Make sure they can reach features behind login or payment, and explain anything they might miss.
4. Choose how to release the app: manually, automatically after approval, or automatically no earlier than a date you specify.

Send it to App Review

Choose Add for Review and fix any validation issues. Open the submission, check the items it contains, then choose Submit for Review.

Check the status afterward. It should leave the editable ready state and enter the review process, for example Waiting for Review. Ready for Review still needs attention. Watch App Store Connect for messages from Apple.

Can’t submit?

If you can’t select the build, follow the build-processing checks.

If the final submission action is unavailable, check required fields, your role’s permissions, outstanding agreements, and the items in the submission.
