App Store 2.5.17 rejection: Matter pairing and certification

A Matter device may pair in your tests while the integration still misses Apple’s requirements. Guideline 2.5.17 requires Apple’s Matter support framework to initiate pairing and sets certification conditions for other Matter software components.

Identify the pairing implementation

Ask your developer which framework starts pairing and whether any non-Apple Matter component is included. We’d record the component version and the platform its certification covers, rather than relying on a general statement that a vendor supports Matter.

Correct the integration or its evidence

Use Apple’s pairing framework. If you include another Matter software component, verify the required Connectivity Standards Alliance certification for the platform on which it runs. Replace or remove a component that doesn’t meet those conditions.

Test pairing, cancellation, and a repeated attempt with supported test hardware. Provide Apple the framework information, relevant certification evidence, and review instructions for the hardware-dependent feature. If the reviewer needs a device or a demonstration to understand the flow, explain that dependency clearly.
