App Store 4.7.1 rejection: Moderation, privacy, and payments in hosted software

This guide is for iPhone and iPad apps hosting software under guideline 4.7.
A mini app doesn’t inherit a policy exemption from its host. Under 4.7.1, hosted software must follow privacy and payment rules and provide the required filtering, reporting, timely responses, and user blocking.
Test inside the hosted item
Open a mini app with test accounts. Can a user report content and block abuse? Where does the report arrive? Inspect data collection and purchases within that item, not only the host’s settings. We’d include a third-party item the host team didn’t build.
Close the gaps
Bring the hosted item into line with privacy rules, moderation requirements, and payments. Remove software you can’t operate within those conditions.
Verify the report-handling process, purchase access, and data disclosures. Give Apple direct access to the corrected item and show how controls work there. A host-level policy page won’t demonstrate a functioning report or payment flow inside the software being reviewed.
