App Store 5.5 rejection: Mobile device management

Device-management access needs approval and an eligible provider. Under 5.5, MDM capability must be requested from Apple and is limited to specified organizations, with narrow additional cases for parental control or security.

Check approval and disclosure

Confirm the provider’s eligibility and Apple’s capability approval. Show what data is collected and how it’s used before the person purchases or uses the service. We’d include configuration-profile installation in that first-use review because the guideline covers profiles too.

Inspect every third-party component

Apple restricts selling, using, or disclosing MDM data to third parties and requires the corresponding privacy-policy commitment. Its limited analytics exception concerns the performance of your MDM app, not the user, device, or other installed apps. Compare the actual events and identifiers sent by each library with that condition.

Remove incompatible collection or sharing and correct the disclosure. Test enrollment, management, and removal on a designated test device without personal data.

Give Apple the capability approval, provider details, disclosure screen, and safe review setup. A parental-control label alone doesn’t establish eligibility or permission to collect device information.
