Google Play dormant Accounts policy: fixes and checks

Google expects developer accounts to be actively used and maintained. A dormant-account notice concerns account activity, rather than a policy violation in a particular app screen.

What to check

Read the notice’s deadline and required actions. Confirm that account contact details are current and that the account owner can access Play Console.

Review whether you still intend to publish or maintain apps through that account. Google’s examples of meaningful activity include publishing and updating apps, accessing statistics, and managing listings; follow the specific instructions you receive rather than assuming a single login resolves the notice.

How to address the notice

Complete the requested steps before closure if you intend to continue using the account. Preserve reports you need while access is available.

Closure removes access to Play Console information unless the account is reinstated, and the registration fee isn’t refunded. Unlike termination for policy violations, dormant-account closure doesn’t prevent creating a future account. If you believe the account was incorrectly classified, provide evidence of the relevant activity through the notice’s support route.
