Google Play full-screen intent permission policy: fixes and checks

A notification needing attention isn’t automatically eligible for full-screen access. For apps targeting Android 14 or later, Google limits automatic permission grants to core alarm and incoming phone/video-call functionality.

Check the notification’s purpose

List every full-screen trigger and how it relates to the app’s main function. We’d inspect advertising and SDK-driven notifications too. The policy prohibits disruptive or unauthorized interference with the device and other apps.

Use the correct permission flow

Apps outside automatic-grant eligibility must request the user’s permission where they use this capability and still satisfy the other policies. Remove the capability when a normal notification meets the need.

Test granted and declined access, the actual trigger, dismissal, and returning to the prior app. Give Google the use case, permission behavior, and build. A user’s approval doesn’t permit using full-screen intents for otherwise prohibited advertising or disruption.
