Google Play gambling advertising policy: fixes and checks

By The Draftbit team · Updated

This guide is for Google Play apps displaying ads for gambling, real-money games, contests, or tournaments.

Your app doesn’t need to take bets to violate gambling-ad rules. Google checks the advertised service, location, audience, and the host app’s own features.

Check audience and host eligibility

The ads and advertisers need applicable legal and licensing compliance. Don’t show them to known under-18 users or target minors. Covered family-focused distribution is excluded. Responsible-gambling information is required in the specified landing or app locations.

Ordinary host apps also face restrictions on simulated gambling, gambling-support tools, and content directing people to gambling. Approved gambling and DFS apps have a separately stated set of conditions. We’d compare your exact host type with the official list before enabling the ad category.

Verify the ad configuration

Remove ineligible campaigns or block the category where your app can’t meet the conditions. Test ad placements, audience handling, and landing pages in a safe setup.

Give Google the host classification, advertiser/region controls, and corrected placement. An ad network’s general age setting doesn’t prove that every displayed gambling promotion meets the policy.
