Google Play gamified loyalty programs policy: fixes and checks
By The Draftbit team · Updated

This guide is for Google Play apps connecting monetary purchases with loyalty points, prizes, or chance-based rewards.
A loyalty label doesn’t make a paid chance to win acceptable. Google’s allowance requires a genuine separate purchase, with the reward subordinate to it. No part of the price can act as a wager or participation fee, and goods can’t be marked up to fund entry.
Separate the purchase from the reward
Compare normal prices, entry conditions, and reward value. We’d document that the person is buying an independent good or service at its usual price.
Apply the right rules for the app type
Game apps need fixed, clearly documented earning and redemption ratios. Game performance or chance can’t increase or determine the reward value under this allowance.
Non-game apps can use qualifying variable rewards, but need in-app official rules, odds or the selection method, and any fixed earning/redemption ratios. Drawings need a fixed winner count, entry deadline, and award date.
Test and explain the arrangement
Check every purchase and reward path against the published terms. Obtain qualified advice on local gambling or promotion requirements. Give Google the pricing evidence, app classification, rules, and safe review steps. A reward that is the real thing being sold needs a different assessment.
