Google Play Health Connect appropriate use policy: fixes and checks

Google limits Health Connect to approved uses with features that benefit users’ health or fitness. Permission for one feature can’t be extended to an undisclosed or unrelated purpose.

Match the feature to the permitted use

Check the listed categories, such as fitness, coaching, care, research, rewards, or qualifying games, against the real user benefit. We’d document what the user can see and do with each data type.

The policy excludes uses such as safety-critical environments, hidden/headless apps, incompatible synchronization, and services solely targeting children. It also requires appropriate protection and applicable legal compliance.

Verify eligibility and agreements

Remove unsupported uses and involve qualified advisers for regulated health-data obligations or required agreements. Supply evidence when Google requests it.

Test the visible feature and access controls with fictional data. Explain its approved purpose and data scope to Google. A broad “wellness” description doesn’t establish eligibility for an unrelated data pipeline.
