Apple rejected your account-deletion flow

You’ve added Delete account, but Apple still says deletion is missing. Follow the button all the way through. It may be difficult to find, lead to support, or only disable sign-in while leaving the account intact.

Apple’s account-deletion guidance requires covered apps to let people start deletion in the app. A web route must lead directly to deletion. Most apps can’t make a phone call or support email the required route; highly regulated industries have a documented exception.

Test the whole request with a disposable account

Create an account containing sample data, then test the submitted build as if you hadn’t designed it. We’d use a fresh account for each test so the previous attempt can’t hide a failure.

If your app uses Sign in with Apple, include token revocation in the deletion implementation. If it automatically creates a guest account, check that flow too.

Deleting a database row alone may leave files, linked records, or service-provider data behind. Ask the developer to map the account’s data before testing the result.

Explain timing and subscriptions

Manual processing is allowed, but the user needs to know the time it will take and receive confirmation when it finishes. Describe any information you must retain and the reason, with legal advice for app-specific obligations.

Deleting an account doesn’t automatically cancel an Apple subscription. Explain continued billing and help the user manage cancellation. Apple still requires an option to delete immediately, even if you also offer deletion at the end of the subscription period.

Test both an account with no subscription and one with an active subscription in the appropriate purchase test environment. The active subscription should not turn deletion into a dead end.

Point the reviewer to the working route

Include the exact taps in your review notes, explain the processing time, and provide disposable review access. If app behavior changed, identify the replacement build; if the issue was backend processing, verify the submitted build completes the corrected flow.

For Android too, prepare the separate Google Play deletion web page. Passing Apple’s in-app check doesn’t supply that external route.
