Google Play clinical-service payments policy: fixes and checks

A clinical consultation and a digital subscription can sit in the same app but need different payment treatment. Google’s health policy says regulated clinical-service transactions should not use Google Play billing.

Identify the service being purchased

Separate the regulated clinical service from digital content, self-service tools, or other app features. We’d confirm the provider’s role and the actual transaction with the people responsible for clinical compliance.

Use the appropriate payment route

Remove Google Play billing from covered clinical-service transactions. Assess other products against the Payments policy rather than applying the clinical exception to every paid feature.

Test the appointment/service purchase in a safe payment environment and verify the provider, price, and service description match. Give Google the classification, corrected payment route, and steps to review it. A feature described as “health” isn’t necessarily a regulated clinical service.
