Google Play health content and services policy: fixes and checks

By The Draftbit team · Updated
Sources checked

This guide is for Google Play apps containing or promoting health information, medical features, or health-related products.

Google’s health rules can apply to a feature inside an otherwise unrelated app. They prohibit harmful health content and require applicable legal compliance, with more specific rules for medical functionality, health data, substances, and clinical-service payments.

List the claims and data

Record what the app says it measures, explains, diagnoses, or treats, and which health information it reads. We’d include generated answers, advertising, and third-party services rather than checking only text your team wrote.

Use the relevant policy below

Complete the required declarations and privacy disclosures, remove unsupported or harmful claims, and verify the permissions your features need. Regulated products require the appropriate evidence, not simply a disclaimer.

Have qualified people review medical and regulatory questions. Test with fictional data and the actual required hardware. Give Google the feature, corrected claim or data flow, and review instructions. Don’t describe this editorial check as a clinical validation of the app.
