Google Play free Trials and Introductory Offers policy: fixes and checks

By The Draftbit team · Updated

This guide is for Apps offering a trial or temporary subscription discount.

A free trial still needs to explain the paid subscription that follows. Google expects users to understand the duration, future price, automatic conversion, benefits, and cancellation path before enrolling.

What to check

Inspect the offer without scrolling or opening extra terms. Can a user see how long it lasts, what they’ll be charged afterward, and how to cancel before that charge?

Check all languages and currencies. Make dismissal clear when the app has functionality available without the trial. A product name that says only “Free Trial” can misrepresent the recurring product.

How to address the rejection

Show trial and post-trial terms together with readable emphasis. Correct product names and localized copy, and link the cancellation instructions where users can find them.

Test an eligible account and an account that has already used the trial. The offer shown should match what Play billing will charge that user. In your response, include the corrected offer and explain how it handles eligibility rather than assuming every customer receives the introductory price.
