Google Play subscriptions policy: fixes and checks

This guide is for Apps offering recurring paid access or benefits.
A subscription needs ongoing value and a clear purchase offer. Google prohibits disguising a one-time benefit as a subscription or making the recurring charge hard to understand.
What to check
Review every paywall and promotion for price, billing period, automatic renewal, benefits, and whether subscribing is required. Users shouldn’t need another tap to discover material terms.
Check localization and price emphasis. Showing an annual plan primarily as a monthly equivalent can hide the amount actually charged. Check whether non-subscribers can clearly dismiss the offer when free functionality exists.
How to address the rejection
Present the real charge and recurring terms prominently. Use an in-app product for a one-time benefit. Don’t reduce or remove the promised recurring value after purchase to turn a subscription into a one-time sale.
Test the complete purchase sequence for accidental repeated taps and misleading button placement. Include trial terms and cancellation access in the review. Submit screenshots of the actual localized offer, not a design mockup.
