Google Play marijuana sales policy: fixes and checks

This guide is for Google Play apps enabling orders, delivery, pickup, or other sales of marijuana or marijuana products.
Your business can be licensed locally and still have a Google Play policy problem. Google’s Marijuana rule prohibits apps that enable marijuana sales regardless of legality, including ordering, arranging delivery or pickup, and sales of products containing THC.
Trace the transaction
Check carts, reservation forms, seller messages, pickup buttons, and external purchase routes. We’d follow what a customer can accomplish rather than judge the feature by its label. A “request” can still arrange a sale.
Remove the sales functionality
Remove the prohibited transaction and fulfillment routes from the Play-distributed experience. Revisit the app’s purpose if those routes are its core functionality. An age gate or license upload doesn’t override this store rule.
Test the revised app, remote content, and links to confirm the sales path is gone. Explain the precise product change to Google. Keep the Apple and Google rules separate; an allowance on one store doesn’t establish an allowance on the other.
