Google Play privacy policy policy: fixes and checks

Google requires a privacy policy even if you believe your app collects no personal data. It needs to identify the app or listed entity, explain actual data handling, and provide a privacy contact route.

Open the link as a visitor

Use a signed-out browser and check the exact URL saved in Play Console. Google specifies an active, public, non-geofenced, non-editable web page, not a PDF. We’d also open the link or policy text from the installed app.

Make the policy match the service

Cover access, collection, use, sharing and recipients, secure handling, retention, and deletion. Include the relevant SDK behavior; the document isn’t limited to fields appearing on the Data safety label.

Test the contact link and any deletion route it describes. Compare the document with the current build and declarations. Give Google the corrected URL and specific changes. A hosted template that names a different app or promises data practices you don’t implement won’t settle the issue.
