Google Play subscription management, cancellation, and refunds policy: fixes and checks

This guide is for Apps selling subscriptions.

Users need an easy online way to cancel from your app. A support email alone doesn’t meet Google’s requirement for accessible subscription management and cancellation.

What to check

Open account settings or the equivalent screen as a subscriber. For Play-billed subscriptions, verify that the management link opens Google’s Subscription Center. For other allowed billing, verify direct access to the applicable cancellation process.

Check expired, cancelled, and active subscriptions. Explain the difference between stopping future renewal and requesting a refund.

How to address the rejection

Add a clear, working management link and accurate cancellation instructions. Keep access aligned with the subscription’s entitlement period. Google’s general policy preserves access through the paid period after cancellation, while some countries have immediate cancellation and prorated refund rights.

Don’t promise a universal refund outcome in your UI. Describe the terms that apply and notify users of policy changes. Test the actual link on a device with the relevant Google account and subscription, then provide those steps in review notes.
