Google Play ad Content policy: fixes and checks

By The Draftbit team · Updated

This guide is for Apps showing ads whose content or associated offers may be restricted.

An ad must meet Google’s restricted-content rules just as your own app content does. Passing responsibility to the advertiser doesn’t resolve a violation in your app.

What to check

Inspect creatives, landing pages, promoted downloads, and rotating campaigns. Check sexual content, dangerous products, financial offers, gambling, and other restricted categories.

A creative can look harmless while its destination promotes a prohibited service. Review what happens after the click as well as the first frame.

How to address the rejection

Block the offending campaign and apply category restrictions that fit your app. If you operate a gambling app, check its additional advertising requirements too.

Verify filters across every mediation partner and placement. Document the campaign or provider responsible, the blocked category, and the corrected settings. Also review Inappropriate Ads: content that’s permitted in general may still be unsuitable for your app’s rating.
