Google Play ads policy: fixes and checks

By The Draftbit team · Updated

This guide is for Apps that display advertising or associated promotional offers.

Google treats ads and their offers as part of your app. A compliant app screen can still be rejected because an ad’s content, destination, placement, or data use violates policy.

What to check

Inventory ad networks and mediation partners, then inspect each format and placement. Include rewarded ads, interstitials, banners, native units, and remote campaigns.

Check audience settings, content ratings, child-directed treatment, consent, and where clicks lead. Your responsibility doesn’t end at the ad creative: the offer it promotes matters too.

How to address the rejection

Use the specific advertising rule in the notice to isolate the problem. Change placement for disruptive ads, content filters for inappropriate campaigns, and data handling for privacy violations. Remove providers that can’t support the required behavior.

Test with provider-supported test creatives and review the production configuration separately. Supply screenshots or a recording of the corrected placement and the settings that prevent recurrence. Switching networks without understanding the original violation may reproduce the same issue.
